She was Pretty / Geunyeoneun Yeppeodda

What is beauty for real? Are the ones who was beautiful when they were young, still beautiful  when they grow up? What do they love you for? For your beauty? or For yourself? How big would the friendship be?

There is a different story in this drama. Kim Hye Jin who was beautiful when she were little, comes across some hard times with the bankruptcy of her father and she loses everything along with her beauty. Is she ugly? In fact, no. She just doesnt have time and money to care about herself.
Ji Sung Joon who was a fat kid grows into a handsome man and succesful editor. This handsome man returns Korea to save a famous magazine and while being in Korea decides to meet his childhood friend and first love Kim Hye Jin. And the events starts from here.
Do you think Hye Jin will see his friend in confidence?
With this drama you will rethink about beauty, succes, determination, etc. Sometimes you will get angry, sometimes it will make you smile widely.

After character introduction, there will be spoilers, yes!

Kim Hye Jin (Hwang Jung Eum)                      Ji Sung Joon ( Park Seo Joon)

Min Ha ri ( Go Joon Hee )
Kim Hye Jin's childhood friend. They are very close like family.

Kim Shin Hyuk ( Choi Shi Won )
The funniest character in the drama. Just because she wears white socks with black shoes, he called Hye Jin, Jackson in the whole drama. We loved him very much, yes!

Now my comments about the drama. (Spoilersss!)

I liked the drama in genereal. I was so angry about Hye Jin not seeing Sung Joon and sending Ha Ri because she thinks she is ugly and Sung Joon not noticing Hye Jin. But I admit they show it in a funny way. Secondly, I find it exaggerated that the comments about the girl that saying she's ugly. For example, in the bus, a man pushes her head when it fell because he thinks she is ugly. Wouldn't it be uglier if the opposite way happened? Anyway, I liked how hardworking Hye Jin is but it pissed me when they make her do every job and she doesn't say anything.
I laughed when Song Joon hit the door because he was concentrated and when he drinks a litte but falls down immediately.  I found it so cute that when Hye Jin and Sung Joon talked and he saw his childhood friend in her and together talked about childhood songs and games. And of couse I got pissed when Ha Ri at first unavoidably but later on purpose, she tried to get close with Sung Joon without telling Hye Jin and using her memories. She should not have done that for the sake of their friendship. But Hye Jin's great heart could not take that her friend getting sad and said the man she loves that "She is important as you are." This was a lovely move. Would I do it? I dont know.  I think I would feel angry and broken. And and and, let me talk about Shin hyuk. I dont know how to tell of this men. It was so cute when he make Jackson buy him food, just because its funny, he mocks with her in the office, and without getting tired he carries Hye Jin and Sung Joon on his shoulders. Handsome, funny and kindhearted man! Oh and I laughed so much when Sung Joon was sick and Shin hyunk helped him. They were so lovable, maybe they will be chosen as the next new couple :))

If you want to have a really good time, I recommend this drama.

My Neighbor Totoro / Tonari No Totoro

                               My Neighbor Totoro

Are animes Cartoons? Is it a bit unfair just to call them cartoons? I am one of the people who considers animes art.

I talk about a movie which will make you happy with happiness of two little girls who can be happy with anything. Firstly the movie is relased in 1988. Its director is Miyazaki who is one of the founders of Studio Ghibli and he is called Walt Disney of Japan. Yeah, In this blog, you will see in time  praising of him a lot. Is it for us to praise him?

To talk about the storyline of the film, two litte sister whose mother is sick move to a mountain house which is near the hospital their mother stays, with their father. The kids meet a forest spirit who is only visible to children. and they become friends.
Why do I love this anime this much? It made me so happy that the children can be happy with a tiny thing, I cant stop watching. I loved so much the forest spirit called Totoro. Also, I like how Miyazaki shows his respect for forests, trees and spirits in his every movie. It is very appreciable that to tell a tree "Thank you for protecting my daughter.", to accept its existence and soul. I loved the movie due to these all and mostly the imagination used in forest spirits. I recommend to watch it whether you are young or old. You will get the urge to go inside the movie and jump around.

I will talk about a few scenes after talking about characters.

The older sister Satsuki who is responsible from the house , she cooks and lights the fire.

A little sassy but very sweet little sister Mei.

Tatsua Kusakabe, the father who is a professor in a university.

Totoro the forest spirit, you will remember Totoro from the Beginnings of Studio Ghibli's movies.

Which scenes do I like? ( May be spoilers. )

I loved how Mei chased these cute two things which she doesnt know what. She was so happy.

I loved how she saw the big totoro and played with it without being scared, copied and slept on it. Yes I would sleep, too.

I laughed the scene where Satsuke gave the umbrella to Totoro and Totoro loved the sound of rain falling on the umbrella and started jumping and it made rain pour from all trees. If it was me I would be scared.

In the movie, another thing I liked in terms of imagination was the catbus of course, yes the eyes were headlights!

If she can bring that corn to her mother, she will be OK quickly because Mei got it  from the field by herself.

If we laugh together we can beat evil.

For hope, at least for keeping on singing this song all the time and going around saying like Totoro to to ro.   Enjoy the movie!

Flashdance... What a Feeling

What A Feeling

This is a very popular song from the film Flashdance in 1983. Single by Irene Cara , written by Giorge Moroder, Keith Forsey.

Irene Cara won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song
and the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The song is covered dozens of times.

I think the music video is beautiful and peaceful.

Roy Khan

He is the one. He has the perfect voice. He used to be a part of Kamelot, But the sad thing is, he quit music.
I dont remember the exact date of finding him. I remember that i downloaded the album called Epica because i saw somewhere that it was the best Kamelot album. It is indeed. I was younger then. Everybody has that phase which they listen to metal music. I listened a lot too. But i still listen to Kamelot with Roy.
Some Wikipedia info about him :
Born in March 12, 1970  in Norway. Singer- songwriter. From 1997 to 2011, he was the vocalist in Kamelot. He studied opera for 3 years. He had another band but i never listened to it so i wont talk about it. He quit music because he wasnt feeling well. He went to be together with his family. I read somewhere he is good now.
In my opinion, he has the best voice. I can listen to him forever. I wish he would sing for me forever.
Even his live performances are the same as in the album, sometimes even better. He has a different attitude on the stage.
I listen to Epica, The Black Halo and Ghost Opera albums mostly. And a few songs from the other albums. Albums have a story. For example Epica tells the first part of the story of Faust and The Black Halo tells the second part. I cant choose which one is the best song. All is great. But not for everybody. It could be heavy but it is a big loss not to listen to Roy's magical voice. Its sad that I cant watch him live anymore.
Anyway, For me He is the best he is the one. I hope he is doing well and happy with his family.
 And Lastly a few songs:

                                                            Love you to Death
                                                          Ghost Opera

                                                               Abandoned (Live)
The Haunting ( With Simone Simons) (Live)

Rooftop Prince / Oktabbang Wangseja

A korean drama released in 2012. 300 years ago, when crown princess was found dead, crown prince decides to find the reason. He chooses three skilled man. While they are investigating, they find themselves in today's world after 300 years. Even if they cannot understand of this new world at first but later they see that they are here for solving the murder. The house that they came after 300 years, is Han Ji Min's house. And for me the incidents start here.
Imagine that you travelled 300 years later from your timeline. What would you do? What would you come across with? They made this together with comedy very nicely.
From the parts after the character introduction, may contain a few spoilers. Let me warn you. By the way, Do you believe in reincarnation? You will see a lot of it in this drama.

Prince Lee Gak / Yong Tae-Yong (Park Yoochun)
Crown prince Lee Gak. Loves reading poems and asking riddles. A good calligraphist. Knows alot about plants. Tries to find the truth behind the murder of crown princess.
Yong Tae-Yong is the favorite grandson of an owner of a big company. But he does not want to be the head of the company. Lives in the USA and painter.

Park Ha / Hong Bu-yong (Han ji Min)

There are surprises to see for Park Ha who has returned Korea from the USA after finding her father. She who lives off selling fruits and vegetables at the market place and doing waitressing is very hardworking character. At the same time she is very tenderhearted and cheerful.
Hong Bu-yong is crown princess' sister. She embrioders well and loves to read poems.

Hong Se Na/ Hong Hwa-Yong ( Jeong Yu-Mi)

Hong Hwa-Yong is the crown princess.
Hong Se Na is Park Ha's step sister. Also she is Yong Tae-Yong's grandmother's secretary. What These two character have in common is that they are both full of greed.

Yong Tae-Mu / Prince Muchang

Yong Tae-Mu is Yong Tae-yong's cousin. He wants to be the head of the company and tries everything for it. He is Hong Se Na's boyfriend. They both can do anything to be powerful.

Song Man Bo ( Lee Min Ho) , Do Chi-San (Choi Woo-shik) and Woo Yong-sool ( Junk Suk-won)
It did not feel right to introduce these men separately. These three men are crown prince's bodyguards. They do their best to protect him.

I really had fun while watching the drama and loved the idea of travelling to 300 years later. A prince and his bodyguards suddenly finding themselves in a democratic society and trying to fit in are given really good. Especially, it made me laugh so much when prince gives orders to Park Ha and gasps at the answers he gets. Think about it, you are a prince. Everyone is under your command but suddenly you become a not so important and an ordinary person. How would you feel? At this point, I think that Park Yoochun deserves a big applause. His way of talking and his acting was excellent. He was like a real prince. Agreeing with every other person, I've never seen the evilest villain side characters like Hong Se Na and Yong Tae Mu. Usually villains may have a good side or a good reason but in here these two characters do evil things just because of jealousy and ambition for power.

I laughed so much at four men came into today's world and found themselves in the middle of the traffic, when they went to their palace, acted weird because it was turned into a museum and got the attention that caused them to sent in jail.Funny moments like the shock when they saw the TV, instead of using knife using swords on table, prostrating themselves when they see their monarch on the money bill.
Oh and I had no idea that in that times the hair was extremely important for men. They wanted to die rather than cutting their hair. They cried while it was being cut. Details like this made the drama entertaining and engrossing. About the final, I am not sure that I am happy with it but it made me surprised. I recomment you to watch it have fun and often think "What if it was me?". These made it meaningful.

And the thing I liked the most in this drama is that they ask each other after getting used to the new world, where they want to live. The result is that living in the today's world is good but here is not their home. Their longing for their families and homes. This aproach made me think a lot. Even if I found it very strange, I said yes. Because if we would in a difficult situation, we want to be with our families, too. And we endure these situations for them and with them. In a reverse case, a person who has a easy life is supposed to be happy. However people become happy with the ones they love. With sharing and loving.

And let's move on with the bonuses:
You will see a lot of these sweatsuits along the drama

Do you think that the time which they disappear one by one come?
An these four men will eat this rice omelette without even getting sick.
If you were to brush your teeth for the first time, would you swallow or spit the water?
What if suddenly you get four handsome men?

                      What about Love?

If you decided to watch, have fun already :)

                                                                  OST is important :)
